Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7

Palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7 consists of a short chain of four amino acids (a.k.a. GQPR peptide or glycineglutamineproline-arginine) connected to palmitic acid. Palmitic acid is a fatty acid added to improve the peptide’s oil solubility and thus skin penetration. Palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7 serves as an anti-inflammatory after exposure to UVB-irradiation. In vivo reflectance confocal microscopy studies indicated that a blend of palmitoyl oligopeptide and palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7 enhanced the extracellular matrix structure compared to placebo.

Benefits:

  • Anti-Inflammatory Properties: Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7 is known for its anti-inflammatory effects. It helps in soothing and calming irritated skin by reducing inflammation, which can aid in alleviating redness, sensitivity, and discomfort caused by various skin conditions.
  • Reduces Signs of Ageing: This peptide assists in minimising the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and other age-related skin concerns. By regulating the production of excess interleukins, which can lead to skin inflammation and ageing, it promotes a smoother, more youthful complexion.
  • Supports Skin Regeneration: Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7 aids in supporting the skin's natural regenerative processes. It can contribute to enhancing the skin's resilience and improving its ability to recover from environmental stressors and damage.
  • Collagen Production Stimulation: Studies suggest that this peptide may stimulate collagen synthesis. Increased collagen levels contribute to improved skin elasticity and firmness, diminishing the visible signs of ageing and promoting a more youthful appearance.
