Acetyl Glucosamine

Acetyl glucosamine is a natural compound derived from the amino sugar called glucosamine. Acetyl glucosamine has many biological functions such as its involvement in the production of hyaluronic acid. When acetyl glucosamine is combined with glucuronic acid, it forms hyaluronic acid.

Benefits:

  • Enhanced Hydration and Moisture Retention: Acetyl Glucosamine, a building block of hyaluronic acid and aminoglycans, aids in augmenting the skin's natural moisture barrier. Its humectant properties attract water molecules, improving skin hydration and fostering a plump, supple complexion while reducing trans-epidermal water loss.
  • Brightening and Pigmentation Control: Scientific studies highlight Acetyl Glucosamine's efficacy in addressing hyperpigmentation concerns. Through its role in hindering melanin production and promoting even distribution of pigment, it contributes to a more radiant and uniform skin tone, diminishing the appearance of dark spots and discolouration.
  • Collagen and Elasticity Support: Acetyl Glucosamine participates in the biosynthesis of collagen and elastin, crucial proteins for skin structure and elasticity. Its presence aids in fortifying the skin's supportive matrix, reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and promoting a firmer, more youthful complexion.
  • Skin Barrier Reinforcement and Protection: By bolstering the skin's natural barrier function, Acetyl Glucosamine assists in shielding against environmental stressors and external aggressors. This reinforcement promotes a resilient skin barrier, preventing moisture loss and maintaining overall skin health.
